Saghro Hotel

Where the Todra Valley meets the sky

5.0/51 Reviews

Perched on a scenic hilltop, Hotel Saghro in Tinghir, Morocco, is a spacious, family-friendly property that serves as an excellent base for road-trippers exploring the nearby Todra Gorge and palm groves. The hotel’s defining feature is its panoramic, balcony-like views of the town and landscape, which are complemented by practical amenities such as free parking, free Wi-Fi, air conditioning, and an on-site restaurant and bar. While it features an outdoor pool and a dedicated children’s area—perfect for recovering after long desert drives—multiple guest reviews note unpredictable pool closures and varying room conditions. To ensure a comfortable stay, travelers are advised to manage expectations, choose newer room categories if available, and contact the hotel ahead of time to verify pool availability.

Strong odor of sewage in the bathroom.
A magnificent hotel with exceptional service and incredibly friendly staff. The facilities are excellent, comfortable, and you can relax wonderfully. There's a fantastic terrace with a pool, refreshing beer, and even a pub where we watched football and danced after dinner. Dinner was very good, and breakfast was acceptable. The bar staff were incredibly friendly and easy to work with, especially Mohamed, a true professional. If I ever return, I'll definitely stay at this hotel again.

Unfortunately, our experience at this place was completely disappointing. We had agreed beforehand on a lunch for 150 dirhams per person, but the food quality was extremely poor and fell far short of the minimum standards. We consider this a breach of contract and a blatant exploitation of our customers. We do not recommend dealing with them due to their lack of quality and credibility.
Great stay.

Very noisy hotel. You can literally hear what the neighbours are saying to eachother. The view from the restaurant and pool over the city is amazing, the sunset and sunrise are a treat to the eye.
The food was very bad. I do not often leave food on my plate but this was very bad.

Stayed first night here for our 3 days trip to sahara desert trip, room is nice but dinner portion is too small (only 2 dishes for 8 people) and very slow

Stayed here during a desert trip for one night and had low expectations given it was included with the tour. Room was fine, nothing incredible. Mold in the bathroom and it wasn’t cleaned well, bar/club played very loud music until 11:30pm which could be heard in many rooms. Dinner was decent, served family style so how much you can eat will depend on your table. The big thing for me was their flexibility with my wife’s celiac disease. After some confusion thinking it was vegetarian, they eventually made her a separate meal free from gluten (steamed vegetables and three meatballs) with no reaction so we were thankful for that in this somewhat remote location

We stayed one night here as part of our desert tour to Merzouga / Erg Chebbi and loved it so much! We talked about planning a longer trip next time so that we could stay at Hotel Saghro for more than one night. In the US, we are used to paying well above this price for something run down, dirty, unsafe, and with no staff even on site — this hotel is massive and with so much to enjoy — we felt very confused by the negative reviews. Our room was more than enough space for just two of us and the view from our balcony was beautiful. The pool is so lovely with ample seating on the patio. Overall, we were blown away by what is offered here, and especially for this price! The staff were also very kind and eager to help.

Rooms could use an upgrade but were very clean, AC was working very well. Dinner was great, breakfast could be more variated and expanded. The view is a 10/10 and the pool is very nice, see the picture!! After a day in the sun, that pool is all you want! The staff could learn more about hospitality. We had to write down our own order and walk to the bar three times, to ask for drinks, to bring the note with our order and to help bring our OWN drinks AND open them!

A Hidden Gem Between Marrakesh and the Dunes
5.0

We stopped here for the night on the 3-day desert tour from Marrakesh. The hotel was quite nice. The lobby foyer was rather grand and there is a large outdoor pool on the terrace with a great view of the city below. Our room was a good enough size with an entry way, the main room and a bathroom with a toilet, bidet, sink and bathtub-shower. The room was a bit run down, but it was clean and comfortable enough. We ate dinner here which was very good, and breakfast, which was okay. There is an outside terrace with beautiful views of the city below – which looks like another world.
